Before proceeding, it is essential to ensure you have the appropriate permissions.

Recently, Facebook updated its platform, requiring users to be listed on the "Manage and View Access" settings view, in order to connect your page to Notified.

Only persons listed under "People with Facebook access" can connect your Facebook Page to third-party platforms like Notified. Being a Meta Business Admin alone is not sufficient, if you're not listed under "People with Facebook Access", the connection will not work.

If you are the only Meta Business admin on an account, you may notice that you are unable to assign yourself under "People with Facebook Access". This is not an error with your account—rather, it is a limitation built into Meta’s (Facebook’s) system. If this happens to you please look at the workaround at the end of this article.

Steps to ensure you have the right permissions:

  1. Log in to Facebook: Begin by logging into your Facebook account.

  2. Switch to the Relevant Facebook Page: On the top right corner, select the Facebook page that you wish to manage, ensuring you are not on your personal profile.

  3. Navigate to People with Facebook Access: Visit the following link: "Manage and View Access"

  4. Verify Your Access: Check the list under “People with Facebook access” to ensure you have full access to the page. If you are not listed, you may need to add yourself or another user.

  5. Add a New User (If Necessary): If you need to add someone else, locate their profile, scroll down, and ensure the option “Allow this person full control” is checked. On a standard laptop screen, you may need to scroll down to access the "full control" option, which increases the risk of unintentionally granting only partial control.
Important: Without enabling full control, the connection will not work.

  6. Grant Access: Click “Give access” to confirm. The user should now be listed under “People with Facebook access.”

  7. Complete the Connection: The newly added user can now proceed to establish the connection with the platform.

Managing Social Media Connections

To access and manage your Facebook page (which may also be linked to your Instagram account), you must log in using your personal account credentials. This process does not retrieve any personal data; it only allows access to the pages you manage.

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right of the page and select Connections.

  2. Connect Facebook Account: Under "Connected Accounts," click “Connect a Facebook account” and follow the on-screen prompts.

Setting Up a Search Profile

  1. Create a New Search Profile: Navigate to "Listen" and select “Create new search profile.”

  2. Select Social Accounts: Choose the “Social accounts” option, then click on Facebook or Instagram with a star.

  3. Choose the Page to Monitor: List the pages you manage and select the page for which you wish to set up monitoring. If you're interested in monitoring competitors’ social media pages, you can search for their account names (without a star) and select them.

  4. Finalize the Search Profile Setup: Click “Next,” choose a folder for the search profile, and complete the process by clicking “Save.”

  5. Completion: Your search profile is now set up. Remember, each social media account you monitor counts as one search profile.

I can't add myself under "People with Facebook Access", how can I fix it?

Workaround: To resolve this, you will need to temporarily involve a colleague. Here’s how:

  1. Add a trusted colleague under "Manage and View Access"

  2. Assign them all permissions (more information under title: Steps to ensure you have the right permissions)

  3. Ask your colleague to add you as a Page Administrator.

  4. Once you have been successfully added, your colleague can be removed if their access is no longer needed.

Unfortunately, Meta does not currently provide any alternative method to assign yourself as a Page Administrator directly when you are the sole Business Manager admin. This workaround is the only available solution due to Meta’s restrictions.
