How to connect your Facebook account and add social account analytics in Listen

Guide on how to connect your Facebook and Instagram accounts and create search profiles on them

Written by Sofie Olsson

Before proceeding, it is essential to ensure you have the appropriate permissions.

Recently, Facebook updated its admin system, requiring users to be listed as "People with full control" on the "Manage and View Access" settings view. The administrator who manages the connection in Notified also need to have the "Full access" status as shown in the image below.

Previously this was listed as "People with Facebook access" and if you're still that admin type, it needs to be changed on the Facebook side.

Detailed information about this change and the new requirements can be found here.

Managing Social Media Connections

To access and manage your Facebook page (which may also be linked to your Instagram account), you must log in using your personal account credentials. This process does not retrieve any personal data; it only allows access to the pages you manage.

  1. Click on the gear icon at the top right of the page and select Connections.

  2. Connect Facebook Account: Under "Connected Accounts," click “Connect a Facebook account” and follow the on-screen instructions. Please make sure that you enable all permissions in this step.

Setting Up a Search Profile

  1. Create a New Search Profile: Navigate to "Listen" and select “Create new search profile.”

  2. Select Social Accounts: Choose the “Social accounts” option, then click on Facebook or Instagram with a star.

  3. Choose the Page to Monitor: List the pages you manage and select the page for which you wish to set up monitoring. If you're interested in monitoring competitors’ social media pages, you can search for their account names (without a star) and select them.

  4. Finalize the Search Profile Setup: Click “Next,” choose a folder for the search profile, and complete the process by clicking “Save.”

  5. Completion: Your search profile is now set up. Remember, each social media account you monitor counts as one search profile.
